Watercoloring Class

April 23, 2014

I know I will never be faulted for spending too much time blogging. Of course, it would be really boring if I blogged every day - my journalling has the same problem. Each day the entry would be:

I got up, went to the living room, sat in my recliner, drank my nonfat ice chai latte with extra chai. Went to the necessary room  ( see I can show a little class) a time or two, ate dinner, snoozed through whatever show was on at 7:00 and went to bed (aka craft studio) between 8:30 and 10:00p.m. EVERY DAY. Once in a while it would say "went to Stephenville, or the Dr" but less than twice a month. The Dr. twice a year. Then on really rare occasions, I might visit my sister or my sister-in-law. And  even rarer, went on a cruise or maybe a scrapbook convention.

BUT  I have a renewed interest in Watercoloring. Some of my dear online friends and I are taking a class and we have to download our projects from our blogs so I am going to try. If I wrote more in here you would know how technologically challenged I am. But this is what they recommend so I am going to try to do it. The class starts on May5, so tonight I some of the pre class assignments. This one that I am going to try to post is my plaid piece.

Happy Easter!

I have not posted in a long time, but the only reason is that I just dont think about it. I WILL  try to do better and learn more about it. I have had a good time since the last time I did. In a nutshell, I have been swimming at least 2 or 3 times a week, winter, summer, spring or fall. due to the enclosure over our pool. so that keeps me healthier than if I hadnt done it. Earl is doing well, working all the time. Kelley and Dawn are doing great!  Paula Deen McCarty, Martha Stewart McCarty, the 6 year old rat terriers are doing a great job of keeping the monsters and wild animals away.  WEll, there was one skunk and one armadillo.  And there are 2 feral cats, one of which comes in and out of Dawn's craft room window pretty often. She is no longer feral.  Baba and Dora Lee, the chihuahuas continue with their jobs of lap warming or chair warming and they do it very nicely.

I have a cajillion pictures to post, trips to tell you about, and a few funny stories. but I hate long drawn out blogs so I will just add them bit by bit from time to time. Yes, that is vague!

So, for now I just wanted to say that I am so humbled and blessed by the message Easter and the hope we have. I know that my Redeemer lives!

love to you all ~

This is the Front Door album I made for my niece, Helen, who is recovering from surgery.  I took the Front Door Album class from Kathryn on Ustream.com. Her lessons are very clear and her work is beautiful.  You can visit her blog at  Scrapbeach@gmail.com   Helen, I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed making it.  I love you.

This is one side of the page I submitted to the Scrap Beach, Mama's Flower Garden, Swap. The gate opens and 2 butterflies pop up as if they were flying.  Another idea from a You Tube tutorial.  I looked for another half inch to put something.  :)
There is also a little ceramic dog sitting right behind the gate... I dont know why I didnt take a picture of that.
This is the "rest of the story"- the other side of the page for Mama's Flower Shop Garden Swap.  Later I will post the great pages I got in return to make a very pretty floral mini album. It was fun, but I was  AGAIN  in over my head and a little overwhelmed.
